Sabina Tamez
Bachelor Student
Sabina Tamez Scandolari, a passionate advocate for marine conservation, spent her formative years split between the Pacific coast of Mexico, living and working with her parents on a Jaguar reserve, and the coast of British Colombia, Canada. Surrounded by nature from an early age, she developed a deep love for the ocean and its inhabitants. Her affinity for the sea led her to become an avid surfer, scuba diver, and free diver, immersing herself in the aquatic world whenever possible. This sparked her academic journey, culminating in her pursuit of a Bachelors degree in Marine Biology at the Tecnológico Nacional de Mexico. Throughout her studies, Sabina has actively engaged in conservation efforts, and is currently interning with Pelagios Kakunjá and dedicating her thesis to studying species associated with the “Refugio del Tiburón Ballena Bahía de La Paz” using. Her research aims to shed light on the importance of protecting marine ecosystems and the vulnerable species that inhabit them.
