Originally from Vilassar de Mar, Barcelona, influenced by the Mediterranean, his childhood was forged dreaming of mermaids and sea monsters. Fascinated by one of the greatest mysteries that occupied the deep, the sharks, which subsequently led him to taking many courses and delivering lectures. While receiving his undergraduate degree in Marine Science from the Universidad de Cadiz, he alternated his studies with industrial diving and collaborations with various campaigns of conservation with Cetaceans, seagrass (posidonia oceanica) and artisanal fisheries. In 2012 he arrived in Ensenada, Baja California, Mexico to complete his university studies at the Universidad Autónoma de Baja California (UABC) and begun collaborating on various projects monitoring the fishing of highly migratory sharks and the tagging of giant squid at the Centro de Investigación Científicos y de Educación Superior de Ensenada (CICESE). He worked as a technician for the monitoring of great white sharks, lobster fishing, and the identification of macroalgaes in Isla Guadalupe. He finished his masters program in Management of Marine Resources at the Centro Interdisciplinario de Ciencias Marinas (CICIMAR) and Pelagios Kakunjá, investigating the concentration of mercury and selenium in white sharks and their prey of pinnipeds in the same island. Marc developed his PhD research about the habitat of great white sharks in Guadalupe Island using acoustic telemetry.
