Lina Quintero

Master student

Lina is a Biologist from the Universidad Nacional de Colombia and an PADI Open Water SCUBA Instructor. Since she was an undergraduate, she became interested in the study of marine megafauna and the use of new monitoring technologies. She has participated in different shark research projects in the Eastern Tropical Pacific, seeking to combine her passion for scuba diving and research. Lina carried out her master’s thesis at Centro Interdisciplinario de Ciencias Marinas (CICIMAR) in association with Pelagios Kakunjá, with a focus on the “Characterization of the pelagic predator communities in the Ecuadorian continental Pacific, using stereo video imagery”, as part of a marine megafauna monitoring project of the NGO MigraMar in Ecuador. She graduated in February 2021.
