Gádor Muntaner López

Gádor is an oceanographer graduating from the Universidad de Las Palmas de Gran Canaria with a degree in Marine Sciences. Originally from Spain, she first put on a mask, fins, and snorkel at the age of 3 and since has practically never removed them. At the age of 16, she became scuba certified and that was when she knew she would dedicate her life to the sea. At 22, she became an open water scuba instructor with SSI and PADI. In 2016, she moved to Mexico for her undergraduate thesis, studying sharks with Pelagio Kakunjá. Her research project focused on the movement patterns of silvertip sharks (Carcharhinus albimarginatus) in the Revillagigedo Archipelago. In 2019 she completed her master’s degree at CICIMAR and Pelagios Kakunjá, with a research about organic contaminants in the tissues of white sharks (Carcharodon carcharias) in Guadalupe Island.
