Elka García Rada
Elka Janine García Rada is a marine biologist who graduated from the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Ecuador in 2015. Her research focused on artisanal fishing of Panurilus gracilis on the Ecuadorian coast. She has worked on sea turtle monitoring programs in Ecuador and collaborated with Migramar on marine species conservation in the Eastern Tropical Pacific. In 2023, she completed her Master's degree at the Interdisciplinary Center for Marine Sciences, conducting research on the habitat suitability of the olive ridley sea turtle (Lepidochelys olivacea) in the Eastern Tropical Pacific, under the supervision of Dr. César Peñaherrera and Dr. Héctor Villalobos. Elka is currently working as data manager at Pelagios Kakunjá.
