Forty years of extensive experience in projects related with biology of sharks, rays, tunas, billfishes, dolphins and biodiversity on fishes from coastal lagoons and islands. Researching in several locations of Mexico (Baja California Sur, Sinaloa, Sonora, Oaxaca, Chiapas, Yucatan, Veracruz) and Ecuador (Santa Rosa and Manta). The research includes: trophic ecology, isotopes of Carbon and nitrogen analysis, heavy metals, reproduction, age and growth in sharks and rays. Trophic relationships in fishes from the open ocean, islands and coastal lagoons. Participant in more than 300 international and national conferences and workshops. 277 papers published in international journals. Thesis Director of 152 Bachelor Sciences, Master Sciences and Ph.D. students. Recipient of several fellowships and national and international grants.
