Alumni

Clara was born in Barcelona, Spain, but as soon as she had the opportunity she moved to a place where she would be able to follow her dream of studying the ocean and its unknown fauna: the Canary Islands, where she got a bachelor’s degree in Marine Science at the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (ULPGC). Her passion for the oceans led Clara to Tierra del Fuego, Patagonia, where she worked as an expedition guide on a cruise and learned to share scientific knowledge. She came to La Paz to begin a master’s program in Marine Resources Management at CICIMAR-IPN, where she carried out her thesis with Pelagios Kakunjá about the trophic ecology of the cockfish, Callorhinchus callorynchus, using gut contents and stable isotops.
