Andrea Asúnsolo

After living six months onboard a ship, she got interested in the study and understanding of marine life, so she moved to La Paz to start her studies in Marine Biology at the Universidad Autónoma de Baja California Sur. Andrea was one of the first students of Pelagios Kakunjá, becoming part of our team since January 2013. She developed her Bachelor’s thesis with Dr. James Ketchum, and graduated with honors in 2016 with her research about distribution, abundance and richness of shark species in Cabo Pulmo National Park. Andrea worked as the coordinator of our Cabo Pulmo monitoring shark program during the season of 2016-2017. She is currently is studying a master’s program in Australia.
